Marriage: The Quranic Perspective by Ejaz Rasool – 4th July 2021 – Tolu e Islam

In this video

This presentation provides some details in the light of the Quranic guidance for a potential husband and wife before getting married – it also has points which can be considered by those who are already married. A number of aspects have been covered some of which are:

1. Zauj defined i.e. man and woman as a companion
2. Basic human psyche
3. Ground realities of today’s life
4. Biological differences
5. Procreation as part of marriage
6. The Law of Requital
7. Family is a ‘mini model’ of Deen

This is a good presentation as a guide for those who wish to see some basic values defined by the Quran. Eimaan is a pre-requisite to a happy start to a marriage between a Momin and Mominaat – e.g. verse (2:177) and (2:221) provide an outline. Many verses are quoted which throw light on the significance of being a man and woman – both possess the same self. If the Quranic guidance is followed then a marriage will turn out to be a happy one in which this mini Jamaat of Momineen will represent the bigger model of the system of Deen.
