I see God everywhere. He is not the universe the univese is His machine. He is the desinger and creator. I experience Him. I aggree with you. People think that if we have a natural explenation for something that means that God is not nessasary but no just because we have a natural explenation for a painting it does not debunk the painter

I must disagree when you say that Stoicism advocates for God being distant from the Universe. The most basic teaching of Stoicism are that God IS the Universe, he is present within all the creation and he governs the universe and our life through his providence. See Seneca, ''On god within us''
