Great conversation, could it be that Alien civilizations know we are here and block our attempts to detect them as they also have a similar concept to the Star Trek Imperative. They may also be considereing uplifting us but have decided against it as they feel we are too stupid and self destructive.

I don’t think people will want off the tech train.
I think it’s going to get knocked down via solar event or something similar and we will have to build it back. Perhaps that could happen over and over again and each time we are a little further ahead when we have to rebuild and slowly step by step walk into the future..two steps forward, one step back.

mid age is 40-55. if you're 42… you're around early mid aged… and will be until you're old… approaching 60…. although I think US has it starting at 35… a bit earlier.
